Research institutes, consultants, agricultural organizations, livestock farmers and other stakeholders from 9 EU member states join forces in the European network BovINE. The Belgian partners in this network are ILVO and Boerenbond. ILVO is working on reducing the carbon and water footprints of beef production by exploring themes such as emissions, water treatments and water pollution, and by collecting best practices from farmers across Europe.
Two recently launched ILVO projects aim to get additional measures on the official PAS list, which will give livestock farmers new options to meet the sector-level target.
