Drinking water quality is strongly monitored by the drinking water companies. Quality controls show that in some places the quality is threatened by pollution. Therefore permanent monitoring and protection is necessary. In the European project waterprotect, alternative solutions are being sought for the protection of potential drinking water sources in rural areas. Unlike the current approach (regulation), the project focuses on awareness and cooperation with all local stakeholders.
