This report describes the status of research on the effects of dredge discharges for the period July 2017 - December 2017. The research was conducted by ILVO's Aquatic Environment and Quality research group. Changes in the marine ecosystem due to dredging discharges in the Belgian part of the North Sea were reported based on measurements of biological population parameters and physical and chemical parameters. Additional policy support tasks were also brought forward for 2017-2018 to support general monitoring and optimize impact evaluation.
