Your capabilities

  • You have a master's degree In Agricultural Science, Environmental Science, Biosienceengineering or equivalent. If you hold a foreign degree, we will ask you to obtain an equivalency recognition upon commencement of employment. You can apply for this at NARIC Vlaanderen.
  • You have a strong interest in innovative technologies, including IT-driven solutions like AI, GIS, and IoT
  • You have a good written and spoken knowledge of English
  • You can write clear, high-quality project deliverables and technical reports.

Personal competences

  • Strong organizational skills with a proactive, ownership-driven mindset.
  • You communicate fluently with different stakeholders (researchers, farmers, policy makers...)
  • You are enthusiastic about taking on a wide variety of tasks
  • You work independently and take initiative to execute tasks efficiently

We offer

We offer you a open-ended contract with a competitive salary based on your degree. You will be recruited in the salary scale A165 or A166 (depending on your degree). You can make a calculation of your monthly salary, a holiday bonus and your end-of-year allowance via de Salarissimulator (note, under salary system select "volgens anciënniteit - according to seniority"). Relevant experience can be considered for financial seniority.

Additional: Hospitalization and group (life) insurance, commuting allowance (bicycle – public

transport), meal vouchers (8 €/day) and option to lease a bicycle. A total of 35 paid vacation days based on last year's performance (private scheme). An additional week of holidays are given between Christmas and New Year’s Day.

At ILVO, you will support in managing research and development projects while also contributing to ongoing research efforts. From groundbreaking innovative R&D projects like ScaleAgData and SoilWise to exciting new initiatives.
You work in a multidisciplinary team where science, IT, and agriculture come together. In addition to your expertise you bring strong communication and management skills to successfully oversee projects.

Your core tasks include the following:

  • Supporting the lifecycle of European-funded R&D projects for smooth execution and integration of technical and user needs.
  • Organizing and facilitating workshops, meetings, and webinars that bring diverse participants together
  • Representing ILVO at project meetings, conferences, and events in Belgium and abroad.
  • Collaborating with farmers, researchers, policy makers, and other stakeholders to co-create solutions that address real-world challenges
  • Writing clear, high-quality project deliverables and technical reports
  • Managing administrative tasks
