AgrifoodTEF, or the Test and Experimentation Facility in Agrifood, is an important European initiative with a clear objective: to accelerate the integration of data, AI, and robotic applications into agriculture and food practices. Through this Flemish-European initiative, companies can test their new technologies with market potential under practical conditions. Specifically, a technology company can call upon ILVO to test and improve their prototype, such as a robot for automated mechanical weeding. This can involve both hardware, like camera systems, and software, such as AI algorithms for weed detection.
