De werkgroep “Fertilisation and Irrigation” van EUVRIN, de Europese koepel van onderzoeksinstellingen rond groenteteelt, vergadert van 13 tot 15 september 2022 bij ILVO.

EUVRIN staat voor European Vegetable Research Institute Network en verenigt onderzoekers actief rond vollegrondsgroenten en glastuinbouw. Naast de uitwisseling van onderzoeksresultaten staat er ook een bezoek aan de ILVO onderzoeksfaciliteiten en een excursie naar Agrotopia gepland.

Programma

8:30-10:00 - Session 6. Topic “Renewable growing media and fertilizers for circular horticulture” Chair: Bart Vandecasteele (ILVO)

  • Keynote lecture (20min) - Use of growing media alternative to peat in press pots for vegetable production - Peat Reduction Strategy of Germany - Nazim Gruda, University of Bonn
  • Oral poster presentation (60min) - Suggested oral contributions so far:
    • Combined assessment of stability and N release in growing media based on CO2 flux measurements
    • Bio based fertilisers from vegetable and fruit waste: processes, characterisation and validation
    • Gaining irrigation insights in high-wire cucumber production on bio-based growing media by use of Growficient sensors
    • Renure fertilizers in horticulture

10:00-10:30 - Coffee break

10:30-12:00 - Session 7. Workshop in accordance to Session 6 (division into 2-3 groups at 3 different places)

  • Discussion & poster session (60min)
    Suggested poster contributions so far:
    • Use of organics fertilizer: phytotoxicity trials in lettuce
    • NIRS as a fast screening technique for total nutrients in strawberry leaves and in spent growing media
  • Summary, conclusion and call to act (30min)

12:00-13:00 - Lunch and farewell
