Useful infographics on the status of important fish stocks for Belgian fisheries.
ILVO and VLIZ publish for the first time a series of summary infographics on fish stocks relevant for the Belgian fishing fleet.
Where do Belgian commercial fishermen fish? What species do they catch and how much? What is the state of fish stocks in those places, and how exactly is that calculated? When can we speak of a sustainably fished stock?
There, the biological state of the various fish stocks is determined by means of a number of complex calculations.A science-based recommendation is thus formulated on the basis of these fish stock estimates.

Flemish farmers satisfied with the quality of their soils, more than half willing to apply no-till cultivation
These are some of the preliminary findings from a widely distributed survey conducted as part of European project SoildiverAgro.
Main research questionThe aim of this project was to get insight in the meat quality variation of sire and sow lines that currently form the genetic basis of our Flemish fattening pigs. The unique aspect of this project was that the meat quality was determined on both fresh meat and high-quality cooked ham.
